The penalties for each type of crime will vary, depending on whether it
is a misdemeanor or a felony. According to Arizona State Legislature,
most misdemeanor crimes can involve up to six months in jail and steep

Under ARS §§ 13-707, 13-802, the penalties for a misdemeanor include:
Class 1 misdemeanor: up to 6 months in prison; fines of no more than $2,500

Class 3 misdemeanor: 30 days in jail, fines of no more than $500
According to ARS
§§, 13-701, the penalties for a felony conviction include:
Class 1 felony: 25 years to life imprisonment, with a potential for the death penalty
Class 2 felony: max. 12.5 years in prison, 7 years of probation, $150,000 in fines
Class 3 felony: max. 8.75 years in prison, 5 years of probation, $150,000 in fines
Class 4 felony: max. 3.75 years in prison, 4 years of probation, $150,000 in fines
Class 5 felony: max. 2.5 years in prison, 3 years of probation, $150,000 in fines
Class 6 felony: max. 2 years in prison, 3 years of probation, $150,000 in fines
